Comments
- This Kriti is in the second Vibhakti
- The “one and many” objects can be understood as Moksha and other worldly gains
- Some improvements in the Sahitya, suggested by Prof. N Veezhinathan in his lectures on Dikshitar Kritis, based on the texts of Sri S V Radhakrishna Shastri , are:
- 1. mAyA vallabhAmbA instead of mAshA vallabhAmbA, and
- 2. kArtikEya sahOdaraM – the brother of Kartikeya,
- 3. kOTi mAra lAvaNya jitaM – the one surpassing countless Manmathas in beauty

ReplyDeleteMr Karthickeyan,
Translation of MD kRtis have been undertaken by Ms Rajani - (see credits). Her response to your observation is as under -
Quote -
I took the word to be mAyA based on the following lec-dem of Dr N Veezhinathan, since he has said this is the right word.
https://www.gaanapriya.in/sahithyapriya/dikshitar-series/dikshitar-15-feb-15/
He has attributed the change to SV Radhakrishna Sastrigal, who has compiled all the Puranas on Ganesha.
The word mAShA does not exist in dictionaries. mAsha ( as a masculine word) means Black Gram.

Is river vaigai called as vegavati here? Or else is there any other river vegavati flowing through Madurai?
